WHO WE ARE

Te Ramaroa Ltd is a Māori-owned, whānau-led health research consultancy based in Northland. We specialise in Kaupapa Māori and mātauranga Māori research approaches, offering deep insight into the aspirations and realities of Māori communities. We partner with Māori organisations, government, health providers, and private sector to deliver innovative, culturally grounded solutions that advance Māori health sovereignty, health equity and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our work is dedicated to ensuring the freedom and liberation of our mokopuna and future generations.

Whānau led

As a whānau-based business, the future wellbeing of our tamariki mokopuna is always front of mind. We pursue sustainable, long-term solutions to support Māori health flourishing — addressing root causes and working toward multi-level change that creates lasting outcomes for whānau.

Hapū driven

Located in Te Tai Tokerau, in the heart of Ngāti Hine, our mahi is shaped by the kōrero of our whānau and hapū. Their insights guide us and ensure we stay grounded in the needs and aspirations of our people — hapū, iwi, and wider communities.

Mātauranga informed

Named after our tūpuna maunga, Te Ramaroa, our work is shaped by whakapapa, mātauranga tuku iho, and the unique kōrero of Tai Tokerau. These foundations guide our ways of knowing, being, and doing — helping us bring a distinctly Māori lens to research, evaluation, and development.

Mokopuna focused

Our tamariki mokopuna are part of our kaupapa every day — learning alongside us, and shaping the path ahead. Honouring the efforts of our tūpuna, we strive to create a future where the mokopuna of our mokopuna can thrive in their identity, wellbeing, and freedom — a birthright and a taonga tuku iho.
